A relative newcomer to Southwest Florida, Will Stout moved to Cape Coral in 2000 but his impact has been outsized in terms of development.

The son of a Pennsylvania country doctor, Stout grew up with a love of the water and boating. During college, Stout worked as a boat builder, then joined the Navy, where he served on destroyers, according to his corporate biography.

Stout, 63 retired to the Burnt Store Marina area from Georgia, where he owned Buckhead Brokers, the largest real estate firm in Atlanta and largest developer of condominiums in the Southeast.
Stout’s retirement lasted 60 days. “I decided I couldn’t take it anymore,” he told The News-Press in 2005.

So, he took up where he took up where he left off, becoming founder and president of the Realmark Group, a company that holds ownership of Cape Harbour, Burnt Store Marina, Cape Royal and Entrada. Realmark also is developing Judd Creek on Pine Island Road.

Stout, who plans to stay in the area, now has no plans to retire.
